Volunteering with Midland Cat Wranglers is rewarding and makes a huge difference in the lives of cats. Caring and hard-working volunteers help in a variety of programs throughout the year.
Our volunteer program is an essential part of our work at Midland Cat Wranglers. Volunteers are involved in all aspects of the organization and enable us to save even more lives. By joining MCW's team of dedicated volunteers, you’ll build strong relationships with other like-minded animal lovers, the community, and of course, the cats themselves. Working together, we can help match more pets with loving homes.
Our Pet Food Pantry provides community support to individuals seeking assistance with pet supplies such as food or litter. Volunteers provide support in multiple ways, from picking up deliveries, helping to unload, and delivering to community feeders. This opportunity usually occurs on the third Sunday of each month, but can change due to delivery pick up dates. (We get food distribution from Greater Good Charities at a Lubbock pick up destination.)
As a medically focused facility, aiding the sick, injured, and vulnerable is our mission. Volunteers aid with providing these animals with top-notch care while being medically treated. Volunteers aid with kennel sanitizing, socialization + enrichment, and so much more! Volunteers also aid in transport to and from medical appointments, from spay/neuter, rechecks and more.
This opportunity can be 7 days a week, but is typically needed Monday-Friday with times differing due to appointment times.
Animal Care Support is vital to the health and well-being of the cats in our care, and a huge support to our Animal Care team. Volunteers will aid with kennel sanitization, laundry, dishes and general care of kennel spaces.
This opportunity can be done 7 days a week at our shelter.
Keeping MCW's cats and kittens mentally and physically stimulated is key to having stress-free pets! Volunteers aid with building and distributing a variety of different enrichment items from running wheels to cat-trees.
This opportunity can be done 7 days a week at our shelter.
As a non-profit organization, fundraising is pivotal to our life-saving efforts. Volunteers aid throughout the year with fundraising events, tabling events, sending mailers to donors and more.
This opportunity changes based on the date and amount of events.
Volunteering at our adoption center is an employee favorite! The Group Volunteering Program gives the maximum benefit to the animals and your employee team, school group, or non-profit group.
All volunteer group experiences start with welcoming remarks from our team and a behind-the-scenes tour of Midland Cat Wranglers. Then, your team will participate in a volunteer project and get hands-on time with the cats. Volunteer opportunities will vary depending on the current needs of the shelter. Volunteers will participate in aiding with animal enrichment, animal training, general kennel aid (such as laundry and dishes, large sanitation/organizational projects, and more). Groups of up to 40 people can be accommodated.
We also encourage Corporate fundraisers or events where we are always excited to come talk and give more information about our cause.
To schedule a group volunteer opportunity, please email Beth at beth@midlandcatwranglers.org.
Midland Cat Wranglers' mission is to reduce the overpopulation and improve the lives of unowned cats through a humane solution of trap-neuter-return, to educate the public on benefits of TNR, to safely rehome friendly street cats, and provide resources needed to empower the community to join our efforts.
